Payment Options
Step One
- Select the payment method you will use, then click Pay Individual Tax, and Make a Payment.
Step Two
- For Estimated vouchers, select Estimated Tax, and Apply Payment To: 1040ES
- For Tax return payments, select Balance Due, and Apply Payment To: Income Tax – Form 1040
- For Extension payments, select Extension, and Apply Payment To: Form 4868 for Form 1040
The Tax Period for a Balance Due or an Extension payment is the year of the tax return.
For an Estimated Tax payment, the Tax Period Year is the next tax return’s year.
Payment Options
Step One
Select either Estimated Payment, Return Payment, or Extension Payment.
Step Two
For a tax Return payment or an Extension payment the Filing Period Year is the year of the tax return.
For an Estimated tax payment, the Filing Period Year is the next tax return’s year.
Step Three
Enter your name, address, and payment information.
Keep record of the payment receipt for your tax records.
